Cambridge, an administrative center and university town lies 50 miles north east of London in East Anglia, in Cambridgeshire county of England. The popularity of Cambridge is thanks to the prominent University of Cambridge. The university is made of King's College Chapel, the Library of Cambridge University and Cavendish Laboratory. Cambridge Diversity Library, the King's College Chapel, the tower of ST. John's College chapel and Addenbrooke's Hospital buildings dominate Cambridge's skyline. As per a 2001 census, this town had a population of about 130,000 with over a quarter of that population being students.

The first university in Cambridge is said to been formed by fleeing students from Oxford back in 1209. Peterhouse College was founded in 1284 and this college still stands up to date. King Henry VI started King's College Chapel construction in 1446 and it was completed in 1515 at which time Cambridge was under King Henry VIII. Some legends say that the University of Cambridge was located away from the city center to make it hard for students to access London which would distract their studies.

Today, Cambridge hosts two universities which are the university of Cambridge and Anglia Ruskin University which together accommodate over 30 000 students. Long Road Sixth Form College, Cambridge regional college and Hills road sixth form college are other state provided educational centers in Cambridge. Cambridge students are served by both independent and State school with the state schools being under the administration of the county council of Cambridgeshire.

Manor community college, St. Bede's School, Chesterton Community college, Netherhal School and Parkside Federation take care of Cambridge's secondary education. St. Mary's School, the Leys school, the Perse school and the Perse School for Girls are some of the private schools in Cambridge. There are also other several local and village schools that host a good number of Cambridge students on a day basis with some centers offering adult education.
